EntrenAI or Athletica: which adaptive plan suits you?

Athletica is one of the most complete adaptive endurance-plan apps: triathlon, duathlon, running, cycling, rowing and HYROX. EntrenAI is the closest alternative in philosophy, with a plan that adjusts every day, but it covers 12 sports (including hypertrophy, strength and exam physical tests), costs less and has a free tier to start.

Athletica is an adaptive training platform for endurance sports. It advertises plans for triathlon, duathlon, running, cycling, rowing and HYROX, with three levels in HYROX and a library of strength sessions with video. It says it analyzes your performance and recovery to adjust each session, and it syncs with Garmin, Strava, Coros, Wahoo and Concept2. It has a 14-day trial, and its published prices are about $19.90 a month, $99 for six months or $189 a year.

EntrenAI is an iOS and Android app that generates a periodized plan for 12 sports, including the endurance ones (running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, duathlon, HYROX) and also hypertrophy, general strength, powerlifting, speed and power, and Spanish public-exam physical tests. Every morning a sleep, stress and fatigue check-in produces a Readiness Score that raises or lowers the day's load. The plan is calculated by a rules engine, not a language model, and the methodology is published.

They are the two closest apps in approach on this list. The practical difference is breadth, price and maturity: Athletica is more specialized and more established in endurance; EntrenAI covers more sports for less money.

Who should pick which app?

EntrenAI is for you if besides endurance you want strength or hypertrophy with a plan of their own, if you are preparing for Spanish public-exam physical tests, if you prefer a cheaper subscription, and if you want to start with free workout logging and a 7-day trial of the personalized plan.

Athletica is for you if endurance is your thing (triathlon above all), you want a more mature ecosystem with Wahoo and Concept2, rowing included, and you do not mind paying more for a platform that specializes in that field.

Use both only if you want to compare plans during each one's trial. Holding both subscriptions at once rarely makes sense, because each wants to run your whole week.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, and it is the closest in approach: a plan that adapts to you instead of a fixed one. With EntrenAI you get strength, hypertrophy and exam physical tests as sports with their own plan, a lower price and a free tier to start. With Athletica you get a longer track record in endurance, Wahoo and Concept2 compatibility, and rowing.

EntrenAI. As of October 2026, Athletica publishes about $19.90 a month, $99 for six months or $189 a year, with a 14-day trial. EntrenAI costs €7.99/month or €23.99/year, with a 7-day trial, and free workout logging costs nothing. Prices change, so check the current one before deciding.

Both have a HYROX plan. Athletica offers three levels and a library of strength sessions with video. EntrenAI treats it as one more sport inside a plan that can also include your strength and running, with simulations and a total-time prediction. If HYROX is all you do, it is a matter of taste; if you also do other sports, EntrenAI coordinates them.

It does not advertise one as a sport of its own. Athletica includes strength sessions aimed at endurance sports and HYROX, but hypertrophy, general strength and powerlifting are not among its listed sports. In EntrenAI they are sports with their own plan.

In different ways. Athletica says it analyzes performance and recovery to adjust each session. EntrenAI starts from a daily sleep, stress and fatigue check-in that produces a Readiness Score, and lowers or raises the day's load with rules that are published. If being able to read and question the rules matters to you, EntrenAI offers that.

You can, but it rarely makes sense. Each wants to organize your whole week, and you would pay for two subscriptions. The sensible approach is to try each during its trial and keep the one that fits.

Maturity in endurance. Athletica has been around longer, is heavily focused on triathlon and endurance sports, syncs with Wahoo and Concept2 and offers rowing. EntrenAI launched in May 2026 and has no watch app of its own. Its advantage is breadth, price and strength training.
