EntrenAI or IntervalCoach: AI on your Intervals.icu account, or a plan that brings everything?
IntervalCoach is a low-cost app that builds on your Intervals.icu account and reshapes your session every morning to your recovery, aimed at cyclists, runners and triathletes. EntrenAI is a standalone app with its own plan for 12 sports, strength included, and needs no other account.
Updated
IntervalCoach is an AI training app for cyclists, runners and triathletes that works on top of your Intervals.icu account: it reads your history and wellness data from there and writes structured workouts back to your Intervals.icu calendar, from where they reach your watch or bike computer. According to its App Store listing, every morning it reads 60+ recovery signals (heart-rate variability, sleep, sleep debt, training load and subjective wellness) and reshapes the day's session. It includes a chat with an AI coach. It advertises a 14-day trial with no card, a Pro tier at about €3 a month and a Max tier at about €8 a month.
EntrenAI is an iOS and Android app with its own periodized plan for 12 sports, so it does not depend on another platform. Every morning a sleep, stress and fatigue check-in produces a Readiness Score that raises or lowers the day's load. The plan is calculated by a rules engine, not a language model, and the methodology is published.
The core difference is the usage model: IntervalCoach is an AI layer on an analytics platform you already use, while EntrenAI is a complete app for people who do not have (or do not want to set up) that ecosystem.

Who should pick which app?
EntrenAI is for you if you want a single app that brings everything: plan, logging, strength, running, cycling or whatever you train, without creating accounts on other platforms. Also if you do strength, hypertrophy, HYROX or exam physical tests, and if you want to start with free workout logging.
IntervalCoach is for you if you already keep your training in Intervals.icu, have a watch or sensor that gives you heart-rate variability and sleep, are comfortable with power data, and want a very cheap AI layer that reshapes your sessions without changing ecosystem.
Use both if you want EntrenAI's strength plan and IntervalCoach's endurance adjustments on Intervals.icu. They are not connected, so you would have to fit the week together yourself.
Frequently asked questions
If you do not want to depend on Intervals.icu, yes. EntrenAI works on its own, with a plan for 12 sports. If you already use Intervals.icu with power and heart-rate-variability data and want a cheap AI layer on top, IntervalCoach fits better.
IntervalCoach, by a wide margin. According to its App Store listing, its Pro tier costs about €3 a month and Max about €8, versus €7.99/month (or €23.99/year) for EntrenAI. That said, IntervalCoach also requires you to keep your training in Intervals.icu. Prices change, so check the current ones.
No. EntrenAI is independent: you create your plan with a questionnaire and log workouts in the app itself. You can connect Strava, Apple Health or Health Connect so it reads your activities, but it is not required.
It depends on which data you want to use. IntervalCoach says it reads 60+ recovery signals from your account, including heart-rate variability, so if your watch measures them well it has more automatic information. EntrenAI relies on a daily check-in you fill in (sleep, stress and fatigue) and on how you complete sessions, with rules that are published. If you prefer not to depend on what your watch measures, or do not have one, the check-in works just the same.
You can, and it fits people who do endurance and strength. For example, IntervalCoach for bike and run workouts on Intervals.icu and EntrenAI for the strength plan. They are not connected, so you fit the week together yourself.
Yes. EntrenAI has a cycling plan with an FTP calculated from a 20-minute test and the 7 Coggan zones. What it does not have is a bike-computer app of its own, so if you want structured workouts on your device, IntervalCoach (via Intervals.icu) is built more for that.
Price and automatic recovery data. It is much cheaper and, by building on Intervals.icu, uses your watch data (heart-rate variability, sleep, load) and writes workouts to your calendar. EntrenAI is younger, launched in May 2026, and its advantage is the breadth of sports and not needing another platform.
