Which training app works for preparing a triathlon?
The one that spreads swimming, cycling and running well across the same week and schedules bricks (bike followed by run) without the disciplines getting in each other's way. EntrenAI has a triathlon plan from sprint to Ironman, with the three disciplines coordinated; it is paid, with a 7-day trial, and it has no watch app of its own.

What makes a triathlon plan hard
Training three sports is not adding three plans. The hard part is the split: a 90-minute run one day and a swim session on wrecked legs the next is a bad idea. A triathlon plan must:
- Split the volume across disciplines (in general, the bike takes most of the time, swimming is the most technical and running is the hardest to recover from).
- Separate sessions that share neuromuscular stimulus.
- Schedule bricks: bike followed by run, so the legs are ready for the last leg of the race.
- Include down weeks, one in every five, and aim at the race date.
How EntrenAI does it
You answer a questionnaire (target distance, level, days, hours, equipment and race date) and the engine builds one week at a time, in blocks with a down week, looking at how the last one went. Run zones come from your VDOT, bike zones from your FTP, and the daily check-in adjusts the load to your sleep and fatigue. If you skip a session, the week is reshuffled without breaking the block.
The plan checks that the distance is reasonable for your level: it will not propose an Ironman if you have never finished a shorter distance.
When NOT to pick EntrenAI
- If you want open-water swim analysis with GPS or an app for your watch: EntrenAI does not have one.
- If you want a triathlon coach who writes to you every week.
- If you prefer a platform specialized only in endurance and with more track record: the comparison with Athletica lays out the differences.
- EntrenAI launched in May 2026.
When to pick it
If besides triathlon you do strength, or you want to change goals (a half marathon, a HYROX) without changing apps, EntrenAI's single plan coordinates everything in one week.
Frequently asked questions
For a sprint, the plan asks that you can swim 400 m continuously; if you cannot, it suggests a swimming program first. The requirements for each distance are on the plan page.
Yes, there is a duathlon plan (run, bike, run) at sprint, standard and long distance.
There is no watch app of its own: EntrenAI reads your activities from Strava, Apple Health and Health Connect.
