Does a training plan made by artificial intelligence work?
It depends on what you call «AI». A language model that writes the plan sounds good but is not coherent from one week to the next. A rule-based engine built on training science that uses your data is. EntrenAI does the second: the plan is calculated by a reproducible rule engine, and language models only read your notes, write comments and answer questions.

At a glance
| Who calculates the plan | A rule-based engine, not a language model: with the same data you get the same plan |
|---|---|
| Where generative AI is used | Reading the free-text notes in the check-in, writing the comment after each session, drafting your progress analysis and answering in the assistant |
| Where it is not | Loads, paces, volume and calendar: those always belong to the engine |
| References | Daniels (VDOT), Seiler (80/20), Schoenfeld (volume and frequency), Coggan (power zones), Friel (periodization) |
| Price | €7.99/month or €23.99/year, with a 7-day trial |
Two different things called «AI»
A language model (like the one behind chatbots) writes plans that sound good. But it does not remember what load you have accumulated or how you responded on Monday, and asked twice it can give you different plans. It is good for explaining, summarizing or conversing; it is less reliable for deciding how much, when and at what intensity.
A rule-based engine applies training-science formulas to your data: your result, your level, your days, your fatigue, your RIR. It is reproducible: with the same data you get the same plan. It can be read, discussed and corrected.
How EntrenAI splits the two
- The engine decides what to do, how much and at what intensity: VDOT paces, FTP power zones, volume and frequency by level, RIR progression, 5-week cycles with a down week.
- Natural language assists: it turns notes such as «my calf hurts» into data the engine understands, writes the session comment, drafts your analysis and answers questions.
That way the plan is coherent week to week and generative AI stays where it does well. The methodology explains it in detail.
What to expect (and what not)
- A plan that adapts to your sleep, stress and fatigue and to what you have done.
- Not a human coach: it does not watch you move or correct your technique.
- Not a medical consultation.
- It is younger than other apps: EntrenAI launched in May 2026.
How to check it yourself
Look at the formulas in the methodology, check whether the paces and zones seem coherent with your level, and try the plan during the 7-day trial with no card. If something does not add up, tell us at soporte@entrenai.app.
Frequently asked questions
No. The plan is calculated by a rule-based engine of its own. Language models are used to read free-text notes in the check-in, write the comment on each session, the progress analysis and the app's assistant.
A plan is not a medical consultation. If the pain is persistent, see a health professional; the plan can lighten a session but it does not diagnose.
The rules are published in the methodology and you can write to soporte@entrenai.app if you see an error or miss something.
